Melvin L. Kersey

Melvin L. "Mel" Kersey, 91, of Paragould, passed away Monday at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. Mel is the son of the late Dick and Mattie Kersey. He enjoyed gardening and loved his John Deere tractor. Mel is preceded in death by his wife, Agnes Kersey; two brothers, Orville Kersey and James Kersey; and three sisters, Emma Pitcher, Minnie Brewer and Rosetta Gray.

Survivors include his son, Stan (Ann) Bryant of Paragould; four grandsons, Robby (Celeste) Bryant of Florida, Mike (Jackie) Bryant of Paragould, Bobby (Penny) Payne of Paragould, and Jason (Misty) Payne of Paragould; one brother, Ray Kersey of Paragould; great-grandchildren, Katy (Ross) Bryant, Whitney (Chad) Murray, Christopher Payne and Dalton Payne; three great-great-grandchildren, Harlan and Kirk Murray and Liam Campbell; and many nieces and nephews.

The visitation will be held Wednesday at Heath Funeral Home from 1:00 - 2:00 PM. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 PM with Tommy Pitcher officiating.
