Matha Jane Morrow

Matha Jane (Davis) Morrow was born on March 31, 1933 in Beech Grove, Arkansas to Thomas and Stella Davis. She was the 9th of 10 children. She lived on her family’s farm until she graduated from Delaplaine High School as Salutatorian of her class. While she was in school Jane was an excellent student and also played on the girl’s basketball team.
Jane married Harold Morrow on November 11, 1950 in Paragould, Arkansas. Jane worked for a while as a nurse’s aide to take care of Harold while he was being treated in Booneville, Arkansas for tuberculosis. After his recovery, she worked for 11 years at the Ely and Walker shirt factory in Paragould. Harold and Jane then moved to Searcy, Arkansas. Jane took some office skills classes at the technical school there and afterwards started work in the office of Powell Truck Line where she worked for 15 years. She then went to work for Atlas Carrier Truck Line, working there for 16 years before retiring in 1998. Jane was recognized by her employers as a dedicated and excellent employee.
Jane and Harold loved to travel with family and to visit family. They took several road trips around the country and even into Mexico and Canada. Jane also loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved having family visit her, especially on the holidays. Thanksgiving was her favorite holiday and there was always a big meal then at her house.
Jane was a very loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a gentle soul, witty, soft spoken, thoughtful, and caring. Most of all, Jane loved her Lord. She loved her church family and was a faithful member of the Westside Church of Christ in Searcy.
Jane passed from this earth on May 15, 2019, after a battle with heart issues.
Jane is survived by her children, daughter Cathy Everett and husband Randy of Bartlesville, OK, son Jeff Morrow of Greenbrier, AR, grandchildren Jeremy Morrow and wife Ashly of Springdale, AR, Chad Morrow and Shandi of Bentonville, AR, Sarah Everett of Little Rock, AR and Seth Everett of Stillwater, OK, great grandchildren Beaux and Ryan Morrow, Chase and Oliver Morrow. She is also survived by sisters Ginny Ade and Ruth Bracey, and brothers Dave Davis and Don Davis, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold, and her brothers Houston, Melvin and Gerald Davis as well as sisters Narine and Dorthy Dean.
Services will be held at Heath Funeral Home in Paragould, AR, on Sunday, May 19. Visitation will begin at 2:00 with the service to follow at 3:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Children’s Home Inc. in Paragould or Westside Church of Christ mission fund in Searcy.
