Mary Martha Sparks (Stokes), 90, passed away Wednesday at Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. She was the daughter of the late Leslie and Edna Ellis Johnson Robbins. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Vines Chapel Baptist Church. In her spare time, Mrs. Mary enjoyed writing Christian poetry, crocheting, painting, and making spoon flowers out of plastic spoons. She is also preceded in death by her first husband, the love of her life, J. W. Sparks; grandson, Tony RandalSparks; brothers, Leo Johnson and Buddy Johnson; step dad, John Robbins; step brothers, Jimmy, Jay, Bob, Ervin, Freddie, Hershel Robbins; and step sister, Madge Keen.
Survivors include her current husband of fifteen years, Denver Stokes, of Paragould; son, Robert (Sue) Sparks, of Marmaduke; daughters, Nancy (Carlos) Smith and Debra (Danny) Breckenridge, both of Marmaduke; five grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; and two great great- grandchildren.
Visitation will be Saturday morning from 9:00-11:00 am at Heath Funeral Home. Funeral service will begin at 11:00 with Rev. Nathan Gramling officiating. Burial will follow at New Friendship cemetery. Send memorials to Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House.
