Mary Kathryn Martin

April 14, 1928 — February 16, 2012

Mary Kathryn Martin, 83, longtime resident of Paragould died Thursday February 16, 2012 of ovarian cancer at Skillcare Nursing Center in Jonesboro. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and active in local and state United Methodist Women activities. She was a retired office worker, having worked at the Ed White Shoe Factory and Brewer Brothers. She was a former member of the Greene County Quorum Court, active in the Democratic Party and local politics. She was a volunteer at the Arkansas Methodist Regional Medical Center and an avid bridge player. She was born on April 14, 1928 in Paragould to Robert E (Bob) and Minnie Jenkins Martin. She was proceded in death by her parents, her sisters Betty Herron and husband Jerry of St Louis, Jo Ann Staelens and husband Joseph of Clearwater, FA, and brother-in-law Richard Hoessli of Salem. Survivors include a brother, Charles Robert (Bob) Martin of Paragould, a sister Patricia (Patty) Martin Hoessli of Lancaster, Ohio, a nephew Sean Hoessli of Hollywood CA, a niece Dena Herron Draper and husband Michael of St Peters, MO and their two children Michael and Melissa. Services will be held at Heath Chapel, Paragould at 1:30 P.M. on Monday with Reverend Angie Gage and Reverend Bill Leslie officiating. Visitation will be 12:00-1:30 P.M. on Monday. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
