Mary Inez Mcpherson

Mary Inez Stout McPherson, 88, of Paragould, passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at The Green House Cottages of Belle Meade.

Mrs. McPherson was born April 22, 1932, in Lester, Arkansas to the late Buck and Ada May Stout.

Mrs. McPherson worked at the Ely & Walker shirt factory in Paragould until she quit to raise her children. After they were in school, she returned to school as a substitute teacher at Oak Grove School and also Baldwin Elementary. She and her husband were the owners of The Bookworm & Overpass Flea Market in Paragould.

Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Gene McPherson; her children and their spouses, Melinda and Marlin Dixon and David and Jennifer McPherson; grandchildren and spouses, Sarah and Chris Collier, Morgan McPherson and Mike and Gabby Dixon; great-grandchildren, Jackson and Graham Collier; one sister, Ruth Dunaway; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

The family would like to give a special thanks and much love to the staff at Vassar House at The Green House Cottages of Belle Meade.

Visitation will be held Friday night at Heath Funeral Home from 6-8 pm. A graveside service will be held Saturday at 10:00 am at Greene County Memorial Gardens with Michael Dixon officiating. Pallbearers include, Dennis McPherson, Mark McPherson, George Tolliver, Chris Collier, Steve Dixon and Randal Graves. Robbie Dunaway will serve as an honorary pallbearer. Following the State of Arkansas COVID-19 guidelines, no more than 50 people will be allowed to gather inside of the funeral home at one time, maintaining social distancing of 6-foot between one another, and face masks will be required to enter the building.
