Mary Genevieve Holloway

Mary "Genevieve" Holloway, 85, went to be with the Lord on July 8, 2010 in Sherman, Texas. She was a long time member of 2nd & Walnut Church of Christ. She worked many years at Paragould Methodist Hospital and after retirement, continued to spread her love and friendship by delivering for Meals on Wheels. She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin and three children, Joann, Mike and Gary, her parents, Sadie and George Retherford and her three brothers, James, Jack and Leonard Retherford. She is survived by her son, Fred Holloway and wife P.J. of Crestview, Florida, her daughter Linda Dike and husband Larry of Sherman, Texas, her son Terry of Laurel Hill, Florida, and her sister Gladys Edmiston and husband Frank of Paragould. She was a loving "Maw Maw" to 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind numberous nieces and nephews and other family members. She was loved dearly and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. A kind friend wrote this down to comfort her. "I will lie down and sleep in peace, for you alone O' Lord make me dwell in safety." Psalm 4:8 The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 Sunday night at Heath Funeral Home. Her life will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Monday at Heath Colonial Chapel. Burial will follow at Brown's Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers are Leo Dial, Jesse Dial, Mike Retherford, George Retherford, Spencer Retherford and Brandon Jones.
