Mary Alicetene Sims Denham, also known as Nanny and Mawmaw, 89, was born in Finch, Arkansas, on October 13, 1926, to Otis and Evalue Hyde Sims. She married Raymond Perry Denham, Sr. on April 6, 1943. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Perry Denham, Jr.; brothers, Tom Sims, Knoble Sims, and William Sims; and sister, Annabelle Clark.
Mary loved her family dearly. She cared for her children her entire life. She had many talents and loved gardening, sewing, and making quilts. She inspired those around her to love family and live a good, christian life. Mary was a member of Liberty Church of Christ and Pine Knot Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband of 73 years, Raymond Perry Denham, Sr., daughters, Dianna and Elmer Brown of Jonesboro and Teri Leisure of Paragould; grandchildren, Danny Blackwood, Ray Denham III, Sheri Bobo, Mary Williams, Jennifer Flynn, Jeremy Denham, Mark Denham, and D.D. Leisure; 19 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren; her special friend and cousin Vesta Howard; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives that she loved dearly.
Visitation is Saturday from 2-3 pm at Pine Knot Church of Christ in Paragould. The funeral begins at 3 pm. Burial follows in Pine Knot Cemetery. The family wishes to thank the Total Life staff, hospice staff, and Catherine Brannon.
