Mary Jane Bresna, 84, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, left us peacefully on Thursday, November 28, 2024, in Doniphan, Missouri. Mary, born on August 21, 1940, in Paragould, lived a life filled with creativity, love, and a profound sense of family.
Mary dedicated herself to a fulfilling career as a machine operator in the manufacturing industry. Yet, her contributions extended far beyond her professional life. A talented and passionate artisan, Mary found joy in quilting and sewing, crafting numerous beautiful quilts that will forever be cherished by her loved ones. Her exceptional skills in cake decorating brought sweetness to family gatherings, as she lovingly created cakes for weddings, birthdays, and other special occasions. If a cake was needed, loved ones knew they could simply call on Mary.
A devout Baptist, Mary drew strength and inspiration from her faith, which was a cornerstone of her life. Her warmth and kindness touched the hearts of many, leaving an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to know her.
Mary is survived by her devoted daughters, Vickie (Mike) Rees and Paula Massey; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; brothers, Robert West and Joe West; sister, Dorothy "Dot" Wilson; and too many cousins, nephews, and nieces to count. Each of them carries forward her legacy of love, creativity, and family. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Mark and Bertha Mae West; infant son, Steve Jerome Parazoo; daughter, Gail Woodford; brothers, Samuel West, Mark West, Don West, Herbert West, Bill West, and Danny West; and sisters, Betty Williams, Pat Eaton, and Earline.
The family will receive friends on Monday, December 2, 2024, from 1-2 PM at Heath Funeral Home. The funeral to celebrate Mary will begin at 2 pm. Burial will be private. Family, friends, and all who knew Mary are invited to gather to celebrate her remarkable journey and the love she shared.
As we bid farewell to Mary Jane Bresna, we celebrate the light she brought into our lives and the beautiful memories she leaves behind. Her spirit will always be with us, woven into the quilts she crafted, the cakes she decorated, and the hearts she touched.
