Mary Bell Grooms, 80, of Oak Grove Heights, died Friday, June 25, 2010, at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, TN. She was born May 14, 1930 in Greene County Arkansas the daughter of the late Oscar and Pearl Roswell Kappelman. She was also preceded in death by her son, Douglas O. Grooms, brothers, Cleo, O.H. and O'Dell Kappelman, and sister, Lenora Skaggs. Mary was a landowner, retired farmer, worked for the Oak Grove Schools as a bus driver and in the lunch room. She was a member of First Church of the Nazarene. Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Elmer Grooms of the home; daughters and son-in-law: Clarice Grooms of Nashville, TN, Kimberly and Donald Sinz of Hermitage, TN; sister: Carlena Schuky of Modesto, CA; brothers: O.V. Kappelman of Paragould, O'Neal Kappelman of Oak Grove Heights; grandchildren: Christopher Pierce, Marissa and Noah Sinz, Dusty, Jamie and Jeremy Grooms and six great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Monday, at Heath Funeral Home. Her life will be celebrated at Heath Colonial Chapel at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, with Rev. Troy Mackey officiating. Interment will follow at Greene County Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers are Noah Sinz, Christopher Pierce, Dusty Grooms, Jamie Grooms, Jeremy Grooms and Chris Kappelman.
