Martha Geneva Bearden

Mrs. Martha Geneva Bearden, 92, of Lake City, died Friday, September 14, 2012, at home in Lake City . Martha was born June 28, 1920 in Boydsville, the daughter of the late James David and Fronie Benson Bateman. She was also preceded in death by two children Phillip Bearden and Linda Bearden, two great gandchildren Jacob Bearden and Brittany Holt, three brothers and two sisters. She was a member of the Grace Temple Missonary Baptist Church. Mrs. Bearden was a faithful pastor's wife for 70 years. She is survived by her husband of 75 years: Luther A. Bearden, of the home; daughters and son-in-law: Shirley and Eugene McNatt of Dixie; Brenda Holt of Brookland;10 Grandchildren, 23 Great-Grandchildren;One Great-Great-Grand Child; many other family and friends. Family will receive friends from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM, Sunday, at Heath Funeral Home. Her Celebration of Life will be at Heath Colonial Chapel at 2:30 PM, Sunday, September 16, 2012, Brothers Bill Maxwell, Waymon Holt, Eddie Hawkins, and Tim McNatt officiating.
