With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Martha Elizabeth (Small) Barron, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. Martha, born on October 28, 1929, in Cardwell, Missouri, departed this world on October 8, 2024, at the age of 94 in Downers Grove, Illinois.

Martha was a woman of great intellect and unique talents, celebrated for her remarkable ability to recite the alphabet backwards flawlessly, showcasing her sharp mind and quick wit. Her love for her family knew no bounds, and she found immense joy in spending time playing with her beloved granddaughters, Kristen and Karen, and cherished great-grandchildren, Hailey, Ethan, and Shawn.

Throughout her life, Martha was renowned for her culinary prowess, with her cooking skills bringing smiles and warmth to countless family gatherings. Passionate about exploring new places and making memories, Martha had a deep appreciation for travel. California and Mackinac Island held special places in her heart, always eliciting a sense of adventure and wonder.

Martha's legacy lives on through her daughter, Cheryl Barron (Kenneth) Carr; granddaughter, Kristen Carr; granddaughter, Karen (Kevin) Rejmenczak; and her great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Sue Loar, and her three nephews, who will forever hold Martha's memory close.

In honor of Martha's life, a public visitation will be held at Heath Funeral Home on Sunday, October 13, at 1:00 pm. A funeral service will then take place at the same location at 2:00 pm, leading to her final resting place at Linwood Cemetery. Pastor Gary Cremeens will be officiating.

Though Martha's physical presence may no longer grace our lives, her spirit and the love she shared will be forever cherished by those who knew her. May she rest in peace, knowing that she touched the hearts of many with her kindness and joyous spirit.
