Mark S. Woodruff, 85, of Paragould, passed from this life on Friday, March 10, 2023. He was born in Battle Creek, Michigan, on October 12, 1937, to the late Max and Hazel Woodruff. Mark graduated from Union City High School in Michigan in 1956. He attended Battle Creek Community College and went to work for Darling Store Fixtures in 1957. He married Janet Nowicki on June 25, 1960, in Brunson, Michigan. He joined the Knights of Columbus and remained a member for over 60 years. In 1967, they moved to Paragould where Mark continued working for Darling and attended Arkansas State University. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. He served on the AMMC Auxiliary for 23 years, and he was a former member of the Kiwanis Club of Paragould. He retired from Darling as the Personnel Manager after 32 years of service. Mark then owned Management Recruiters for ten years before retiring a second time. He was an avid duck hunter, fisherman, and golfer. He loved to watch football and basketball, and he could recall many of the players and coaches from most teams. Mark was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Ralph and Nelson Woodruff.
Mark is survived by his wife of 62 years, Janet Woodruff; daughters, Shelly (Danny) Dean of Jonesboro and Kim Woodruff of Little Rock; granddaughter, Whitney (David) Avila of Jonesboro; great grandsons, Elias and Lucas Avila of Jonesboro; special neighbors, Brad, Katrina, and Chase Brewer; and his loving caretakers, Shannon Richards and James Ewald.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 11 AM-12 PM at Heath Funeral Home. The funeral will begin at 12 PM. Burial will follow in Greene County Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers are Brad Brewer, Leon Stayton, David Avila, and Barry Smoker. Honorary pallbearers are John Brittingham and Chase Brewer.
