Marion "Fat" Hendrix, of Paragould, was born March 4, 1920, and died January 20, 2015. He was a World War II veteran serving, serving as a staff sergeant with the combat engineers in Germany, France, and Italy. He received 3 battle stars: Battle of the Bulge, Central Europe, and Rhine River. Fat is survived by his wife, Velma Hendrix, of the home; sons, Ronald and Donald Hendrix, both of Marmaduke; stepson, Ron Coward, Foley, AL; step daughter, Sheryl Wilson, St. Charles, MO; granddaughters, Gena Miller and Kristy Vowell; five great grandchildren; sister, Ann Kersey, Harrison; and several nephews and nieces. Fat was preceded in death by his parents, John and Lillie Hendrix; previous wife, Evelyn Hendrix; brothers, John, Albert, and Charles; and sisters, Mary, Agnes, Ader, and Letha. The family will receive friends Friday from 6-8pm at Heath Funeral Home. The funeral service is Saturday at 10am at Heath Colonial Chapel with Rev. Kevin Edgar officiating. Interment will be at Harvey's Chapel Cemetery.
