Margaret "Mickie" Stubblefield

d. March 17, 2019

Margaret (Mickie) Maxine Stubblefield passed from this life on March 17, 2019 at the age of 84. She was born to Sanford and Addie Varnell on January 31, 1935 in Rison, Arkansas. She was baptized in 1958. She was a longtime member of the Commissary Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents and a granddaughter, Brynne Lexi Wortham.

Survivors include her loving husband, Bill Stubblefield of Paragould, Ar., whom she married on July 1, 1956. They spent 62 wonderful years together. Her son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Sheila Stubblefield of Paragould, AR; daughter and son-in-law Leslie and Randy Russom of Beech Grove, Ar.; precious granddaughters, Andrea and Brian Bounds of Mt. Home, AR., Chelsea and Dustin Dowler of Beech Grove, AR., and Jennah Stubblefield of Brookland, AR; great grandchildren, Harper Grace Bounds, Sawyer Eliott Bounds and Wilder Milburn Bounds all of Mt Home.; brother, Sonny and Corienne Varnell of St. Paul, AR.; sister Beth and Bill Atkinson of Little Rock, AR.; sister-in-law, Anne and Lutz Lachmann of Sherwood, AR. She leaves behind an abundance of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mickie graduated from Pine Bluff High School in 1953. After graduation, she moved to Little Rock where she attended Arkansas Baptist Hospital School of Nursing. She graduated there in 1956 with a registered nurse's degree. She began her nursing career in 1956 and retired in 1991.

In her spare time, she enjoyed writing poetry, short stories and painting. More than anything she loved being with her family.

After she lost her eyesight to macular degeneration she enjoyed listening to books on tape. She would listen to 100 books a year. One year she listened to more books than anyone in Arkansas.

Mickie led a full and wonderful life and now she continues on the journey of all journeys to walk the streets of gold with our Lord and Savior. We take comfort in knowing she will be free from her worldly body and will be whole once more.

Our family would like to offer our deepest appreciation to Marlissa Thomspon and her team at Greene Acres Nursing Home. You have given the best care and love to her, just as if she was your family. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Thank you to Sue McFadden and the amazing hospice team for the comfort and care you have given. It warms our soul.

Thank you to Arkansas Methodist Medical Center and all the doctors and nursing team for the wonderful care and compassion you have shown us.
