Major “Dob” Walker, 78 of the Light community, died Sunday at his residence. “Dob” was a road grader operator for Greene County and a farmer. He was of the Baptist faith and attended Pruett Chapel Freewill Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, M. W. and Dott Furlong Walker; brothers, Bob Walker and Marion Henry Walker; sister, Christine Watson; sister-in-law, Glenavee Walker; brothers-in-law, Michael Gray and Lee Gray. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Barbara Walker of the home; daughters, Candi (Allen) Crosno and Christi (Chuck) Partlow of Paragould; grandchildren Peyton Alexis Crosno and Hayden Walker Crosno; sisters-in-law Karen (Jerry) Clifford, Laura Ann Walker , Cathy Gray all of Paragould, Judy Gray Harsson of Heber Springs, AR brothers-in-law, Dorian (Linda) Gray, Paul (Barbara) Gray, of Paragould, Randy (Connie) Gray of Light, Walter Gene Watson of Truman, AR. Several nieces and nephews. “Dob” loved to drink coffee at the round table at Couch’s and he loved his family. Major was born on the Walker farm June 5, 1936, and never moved more than a quarter mile from the family farm. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 22, 2014, from 6:00-8:00 at Heath Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2:00 P.M. at Heath Colonial Chapel with Dale Walker and Aaron Winfrey officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Todd Clifford, Brad, Blake and Casey Gray, Joe and Jessie Walker. Honorary Pallbearers, Jeff Walker, Dane Cunningham, Gerald Wall and J.M. Walker.
