Lowell Gerald Williams died peacefully at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro, Arkansas on November 22, 2017 at the age of 88. Mr. Williams was born on August 18, 1929 in Cardwell, Missouri to the late Claude and Margaret (Jackson) Williams. He was united in marriage to Sherrill Anderson on April 9, 1960 and was married to his beloved wife for 57 years. He spent his life farming in Cardwell, and he served his country as a PFC for the Army in the Signal Corp during the Korean War. He graduated as a student of distinction from Arkansas State University with an Agriculture degree. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Jim Williams, sisters Norma Crawford, Mildred Rorie, and Elaine Laughlin and an infant granddaughter.
Mr. Williams is survived by his wife, Sherrill Williams of Cardwell, Missouri; 2 sons, Brad Williams and wife Linda of Cardwell, Missouri and Chris Williams and wife Regina of Poplar Bluff, Missouri. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Parker Williams of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Amindia Small of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Rachel Phillips of Cardwell, Missouri, Austin Williams of Poplar Bluff, Missouri and Tori Williams of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, and four great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Saturday from 12:00-1:00 pm at Heath Funeral Home in Paragould, Arkansas. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm at the funeral home with Rev. Parker Williams officiating. Burial will be at Cardwell Cemetery. Steve Jackson, Matt Jackson, Austin Williams, Matt Small, Jay Phillips, and Derrick Higgins will serve as pallbearers. Bob Kender, Tommy Ellington, and Bill Lanning will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Bright Focus Foundation for Alzheimer’s at www.support.brightfocus.org.
