Lloyd "Lum" Thomas, 78, of Lafe, died on Monday at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. He was a retired dairy farmer and member of St. John's Lutheran Church. He was the son of the late Herman and Clara Thomas. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife of 57 years, Beverly "Gay"; son, Bradley Thomas; brothers, Marlin and Wilburn "Web" Thomas; and sisters, Virginia Bollinger and Beulah Thomas.
He is survived by his daughters, Tammy Christian, Lafe, Toni Mangrum (Doug), Bartlett, TN, Carmon Johnson (Manuel), Lafe, and Amy Speer (Stacey), Marmaduke; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday from 1:30-4 pm at St. John's Lutheran Church in Lafe. The funeral will begin at 4 pm at the church under the direction of Heath Funeral Home with Pastor Aaron Neugebauer officiating. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery. Pallbearers are Jason and Stacy Tritch, Jeremy Lange, Greg and Blake Brasher, and Chad Agee. Honorary Pallbearers are Chester Nething, Ronnie and Orin Tritch, Richard Bowers, Benny Leuker, Russell Stallcup, and Allen Lange. Memorials may be sent to St. John's Lutheran Church or Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. All friends are invited to a meal following the service at St. John's fellowship hall.
