Linda Elizabeth Lane Hoepfl 83 of Lafe passed away after a long battle with cancer at The Busby House at The Cottages of Belle Meade Thursday, June 10, 2021 in Paragould, Arkansas.
She was born February 6, 1938 in Paragould to the late John Andrew Lane and Ellen Elizabeth “Betty” Burch Lane. She was a devout Catholic and a lifetime member of St. Mary Catholi
She was the first employee of the Paragould branch of Darling Store Fixtures from which she retired after 36 years.
She loved spending time with her family and grandkids. She could be caught calling the Hogs for any Razorback sport, but she especially loved basketball.
One of her favorite pastimes was playing Bingo on Monday nights at St. Mary and she enjoyed card games with her family.
She loved all things Christmas and was the best mom and cook in the world.
She was a loyal friend to many. Linda was preceded in death by her husband Bob and her brother Tom Lane.
Survivors include her children, Jerry (Tracey) Hoepfl of Lafe, Janet Murray of Lafe, and Karen (Joe) Swingle of Oxford, Mississippi; and grandchildren, Ryan Hoepfl (Kaye), Ella Murray, Molly Swingle, Jack Swingle, and Grayson Swingle. Three sisters Judy Smallwood, Phyllis Wills and Elnore Raley and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be nephews Kevin Wills and Kyle Wills and friends Barry Smoker and Sam King.
A rosary service will be held Monday, June 14 at Heath Funeral Home at 5:30 with visitation following from 6:00-8:30.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 15 at St. Mary Catholic Church with Father Josh Stengal officiating.
Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to St. Mary Catholic School or to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
We would like to thank the caregivers at The Campbell and Busby Houses at The Cottages of Belle Meade for the care given to our mom over the last few months.
