Linda Faye Walker, 76, of Paragould, passed away Tuesday in Jonesboro. She was a custodian at the Paragould School Systems. Linda was very involved in church at New Life Temple Ministries. She organized and operated the food pantry at church for years, and she also taught children's church. During her spare time, she loved to garden, cook, and teach. She loved children, and she raised her grandchildren, Darlene and Michael Lyles. Linda was the daughter of the late Cecil and Cora Mae Thompson. She was also preceded in death by her son, Marland Lyles; father of her children, Jimmy Lyles; brothers, Joe, Lloyd, and Bud Thompson; and sisters, Darlene, Betty, and Louise.
Survivors included her husband of 34 years, Gary; children, Vickey (Richard) Jensen, Billy (Jacqueline) Lyles, Ricky Lyles, Roy (Shiloah) Lyles, James Lyles, and Garland Lyles; step children, Eugene (Christina) Walker, Maria (Maurice Crawford) Walker, and Larry (Tammy) Caduex; brothers, Forrest Ray (Vicky) Thompson and Kenny (Jeanette) Thompson; 52 grandchildren and great grandchildren; special niece, Melinda Coleman; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation is Thursday evening from 6-8 at Heath Funeral Home. The graveside funeral begins at 10am Friday at Pruett Chapel Cemetery with Rev. Jerry Hayes.
