Lester Ray Forbs, a beloved son, brother, father, and friend, passed away on February 7, 2025, at the age of 79. Born on March 28, 1945, in Paragould, Arkansas, Lester spent his life dedicated to serving his community and caring for those around him.
A proud graduate of Southland High School in Cardwell, Missouri, Lester embarked on a career as a tire salesman, working notably at McCaul Tire and Forbs Tire. He was known not only for his unwavering work ethic but also for his innate kindness, often referred to as "an Uber for anyone who needed a ride to the doctor."
Lester was a devoted family man, married to the love of his life, Carolyn, on January 1, 1965. Together, they shared many joyful moments, including fishing at their special spot on Big Slough and enjoying countless rounds of bowling. His zest for life was evident in his participation in men's softball leagues, and he cherished every opportunity to bond with family over shared activities.
Lester's mornings were marked by his routine breakfast gatherings at Hardee's, where he would share laughter and stories with his friends over cups of coffee. His loyal lap dog, Sadie, was a source of comfort and companionship, adding an extra warmth to his days.
He is survived by his son, Kenny (Kendra) Forbs, as well as his siblings: brother James Forbs, sister Shirley (Jerry) Frields, sister Bonnie (Carl) Morgan, and brother Danny (Terri) Forbs, his bonus grandchildren: Savannah (Brian) Keeling, and Jeryn (Andrew) Orick, and his great grandkids: Renlee, Zoey, Halle, and Ace. Together with his extended family and community of friends, they will remember Lester as a gentle, caring soul who always put others first.
Lester was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carolyn Forbs; father, Claude Forbs; mother, Lorrine Forbs; brothers, Leon Forbs, Johnny Forbs, Larry Forbs, Elmer Forbs, Earnest Forbs; and sisters, Barbara Cooper, Lucille Edwards, Christine Howard, Edith Forbs, and Esther Forbs.
A memorial service will be held in his honor on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Heath Funeral Home. Family and friends are invited to join in celebrating Lester's life and the cherished memories he leaves behind.
Lester Ray Forbs will be profoundly missed but fondly remembered for his unwavering spirit and the love he shared with all who were fortunate enough to know him.
