Leslie Wayne Crow, a distinguished veteran and dedicated farmer, passed away on Monday, June 10, 2024, in Paragould. Born on October 6, 1947, in Knobel, AR, to the late William and Julia Crow, Les was a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, and son, remembered for his dedication to his work and to his country.


Les proudly served as a Door Gunner with bravery and fortitude during two valorous tours in Vietnam, earning the distinguished Purple Heart for his unwavering commitment and selfless sacrifice. He was an invaluable member of the 57th Med Detachment of the US Army, a testament to his unwavering loyalty and duty to his country.


A man of the land, Les found solace and purpose working as a farmhand at Schug Farms for over five decades, embodying the steadfast work ethic and passion for agriculture that defined his character. His love for the outdoors extended beyond his profession as he reveled in the thrill of hunting rabbit, squirrel, and deer, finding peace and harmony in the simplicity of nature.


Guided by faith, Les was an esteemed member of Cornerstone Baptist Church, where his presence and devotion enriched the community and inspired those around him. His 54-year marriage to Brenda stood as a testament to enduring love and unwavering partnership, a bond that transcended time and space.


A man of immense character and an unwavering spirit, Leslie Wayne Crow's presence will be sorely missed by his wife Brenda (Niswonger) Crow of Paragould; children, Barry Crow of Paragould, Brent (Madison) Crow of Paragould, Christy (Aaron) Gavin of Jonesboro, David (Stacy) Schug of Paragould; siblings, Jerry (Pam) Crow of Rector, Judy Melson of Grayson, Alabama, Brenda Andrews of Grayson, Alabama, Deborah (James) Peterson of Paragould, Pamela Pyburn of Paragould, Joyce Crow, of Paragould, Marilyn Forehand of Poplar Bluff; 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, extended family, and countless friends.

Les was preceded in death by his parents, and his siblings: Donald Crow, Harold Crow, Edith Crow, and Linda Faye Webb.


The funeral service will be held at Heath Funeral Home on Friday, June 14, at 10:00 am, with a public visitation scheduled for Thursday, June 13, at 6:00 pm. Burial will take place at Pine Log Cemetery. Jay Will Hicks, Jr, will be presiding. Pallbearers will be Brent Crow, Nick Gann, Cody Crisp, EJ Jones, Jeff Ward, and Nathan Harbarugh. Honorary Pallbearers are Levi Hicks, Bryton Joiner, Danny McDaniel, Sammy McDaniel, and the men of Cornerstone Baptist Church.


Though Les may have left this earthly realm, his spirit will forever dwell in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. May his memory be a beacon of light and inspiration, guiding us through the darkness with his legacy of courage, honor, and unwavering faith.
