Leonard S Hill

Leonard Staton Hill, 83 of Paragould, died Thursday at his residence. Leonard was the owner/operator of Hill’s Carpet, a former Paragould City Council Member, a former Landfill Commissioner, an active Gideon, an ordained deacon and a member of the Brown’s Chapel Baptist Church. He was also a World War II, Navy veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Stella Hart Hill, wife, Betty Lou Hill, brother, Lawrence Hill, sisters, Letha Yates and Katheleen Taylor. Survivors include; daughters, Janet Schug of Paragould, Gwen Brinkley of Dexter, MO and Donna Hill-Chaney of Mertztown, PA; son, Curtis Hill of Jacksonville, FL; brother, Jack Hill of Pine Bluff, AR; sisters, Leona Yates of Paragould and Lois Ledford of Holland, MI. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren; April Brinkley, Jamie Hughes, Jarrod Hill, Jonathan and Elizabeth Schug and Amelia Chaney. Visitation will be Sunday from 6:00 – 9:00 P.M. at Heath Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Monday at 10:30 A.M. at Heath Colonial Chapel with Rev. Royce Boling officiating. Burial will follow in Linwood Cemetery. The family has requested that memorials be made to the Gideons or Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 120 Wall St. New York, NY 10005.
