Leon Floyd Thompson, 87, of Paragould, passed away Tuesday at his residence. He worked many years at LA Darling and Monroe before retiring from AMMC's Security Department. Leon loved to fish, but playing guitar was his biggest hobby. Leon was the son of the late Chester and Beulah Thompson. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Mary Shipman Thompson; daughter, Judy Howell; son, Stevan Thompson; brother, Raymond Thompson; and sister, Betty Thompson.
Survivors include his daughters, Faye (Morris) Hatcher and Debbie (Dennis) Davis; son, Danny (Mahaley) Thompson; sister, Louise (Bill) Potter; 23 grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren.
Visitation is Friday from 12-2pm at Heath Funeral Home. The funeral begins at 2pm with Rev. Ron Pickney officiating. Burial will be private. Pallbearers are Robbie Wynn, Eric Coble, Mike Cole, Chaney Davis, Sean Thompson, and Colby Thompson. Honorary pallbearer is Morris Hatcher.
