Leland "Grampsie" Stanfill

Leland "Grampsie" Stanfill, 74, of Paragould, went to be with Jesus on Sunday, April 29, 2012. He was born February 5, 1938 in Paragould to Fred and Mary Jane Dillon Stanfill. He was ordained as a deacon on August 22, 1982 at Center Hill Baptist Church. He has been a member and deacon of Browns Chapel Baptist Church for the past 24 years. He worked for Emerson Electric for 11 years, then owned and operated his own dump truck for 29 years. Since retirement he has enjoyed traveling, spending time with his family, especially his three great grandsons, and working with NEATS. He was a devoted husband, daddy, and Grampsie. Leland was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Orvil and Carlton "T". He is survived by his devoted wife of 56 years, Thelma Yates Stanfill, one daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Rick Ward; two granddaughters and spouses, Stacie and Andy Landrum and Amber and Bobby Farmer, three great grandsons, Luke Landrum and Camden and Benton Farmer. He is also survived by three brothers, Euel, Carl and Junior Stanfill and one sister, Carolyn Winn and a host of other friends and relatives, and a lifelong friend, Bill Pillow. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Tuesday, at Heath Funeral Home. A celebration of his life will be held at 1:30 PM Wednesday, Heath Colonial Chapel, with Reverend Royce Boling officiating. Burial will follow at Greene County Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers are Kevin Eddings, Joe Lane, Gary Lewis, Don Russell, David Stanfill and Tim Williams.
