Lela Frances Rogers, 96, of Paragould, passed away Friday at AMMC. She was a homemaker, and she enjoyed making clothes for her children. Mrs. Rogers was a member of Rosewood Baptist Church. She also authored a book of short stories about her life which has become a family treasure. Mrs. Frances (as she was known) married the love of her life, LC "Skinny" Rogers, on January 20, 1940. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years; parents, Forrest and Mary Evans; 1 grandchild; 4 sisters; and 1 brother.
Survivors include her son, Wayne (Betty) Rogers of Paragould; daughters, Verenda (Lynn) Garmroth of Lamar, Arkansas, Phyllis (Mack) Farley of Shelbyville, Illinois, Kay (Bob) Johnson of Byron, Michigan, and Vonna (Tommy) Willcockson of Beaverdam, Virginia; 15 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; and brother, Paul (Barbara) Evans of Florissant, Missouri.
Visitation is Sunday evening from 6-8 at Heath Funeral Home. The funeral is Monday at 2 pm at Heath Colonial Chapel with Rev. Heath Vines, Rev. Tommy Willcockson, and Rev. Lynn Garmroth officiating. Burial is in New Friendship Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to Rosewood Baptist Church and Gideons International. Online tributes:
