It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Lawrence Earl "Jim" Tedder, who departed this life on Friday, April 4, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on December 24, 1941, in Light, Arkansas, Jim was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
Jim dedicated his professional life to the agricultural industry, serving as a Service Manager at Case IH in Hoxie. Throughout his career, he was respected for his expertise and unwavering work ethic. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Jim also cherished his family. He is survived by his devoted spouse, Earline Tedder; his daughters, Pamela Scott and Kimberly (John) Smith; and his grandchildren: Shane Smith, Matthew Scott, Devin (Lauren) Smith, Madison Scott, Mackenzie Scott, and Shaylee Smith. He also leaves behind his siblings: Shelby Faulkner, Bob Tedder, Yevonne Mangrum, Brenda Cannon, and Linda Yocum.
Jim was preceded in death by his father, Mack Tedder; mother, Flossie Tedder; siblings: M.C. Tedder, Bill Tedder, Mark Creel, Shirley McCord, Eggie Tedder, Jerry Wayne Tedder, Lurline Hambrick; and son-in-law, Tom Scott.
A man of many passions, Jim found joy in working on cars, deer hunting, and fishing. He took pride in maintaining his yard and could often be found engaged in outdoor activities. His love for the outdoors was shown by his continued improvement of the hill farm in Mammoth Springs. Jim treasured the simple pleasures of life, such as watching Westerns and playing solitaire, which brought him great comfort and joy.
Jim was a dedicated deacon at the Walnut Corner General Baptist Church in Light, where he contributed not only to the spiritual community but also made lasting friendships that enriched his life.
The family will hold funeral services to honor Jim's memory on Friday, April 11, 2025. Public visitation will take place at Heath Funeral Home from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM with Rev. Jerry Pentecost officiating, followed by burial at Mt. Zion Cemetery.
