Laura Beauton Hicks, 79, of Marmaduke, passed away Saturday morning at A.M.M.C in Paragould. She is the daughter of the late Grover and Mildred Vincent Provoe. Laura was a member of Lake Street Baptist Church and enjoyed word searches, walking, sitting outside,and spending time with her grandchildren. She retired from A.M.M.C after forty years of service as a CNA, housekeeping, and security departments. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Paul Hicks; and three sisters, Dolly Sue Provoe, Mary Walden, and Gaye Hardin.
Survivors include her children, Randy Provoe (Debbye), of Forrest City, and Rebecca Dodd, of Marmaduke; grandchildren, Tyler Provoe (Ashley), of Colt, Arkansas, Aaron Provoe, of Dexter, Missouri, Amanda Sickler, of Paragould, and Samantha Smith (Dillan), of Paragould; three sisters, Lucille Marshall, Peggy Parker, both of Metamora, Illinois, and Faye Carroll, of Paragould; several great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6:00-8:00 pm at Heath Funeral Home. Graveside service will be Wednesday at Shiloh Cemetery beginning at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Mark Mardis officiating.
