Larry N. Mcdaniel

March 29, 1948 — June 11, 2015

Larry N. McDaniel, 67, of Paragould, left this life on Thursday surrounded by his family. He was a retired engineer with Southwestern Bell and a Deacon at Center Hill Church of Christ. Larry loved spending time with his grandchildren, who affectionately called him "Daddo". His eyes would light up each time he saw them. He also enjoyed golfing with cherished friends. He served in the U.S. Army as Military Intelligence. He was awarded the Bronze Star for his service in Vietnam. Larry was the son of the late Neal and Helen McDaniel. He was also preceded in death by his beloved son, Steve McDaniel, and sister, Linda Nickens. Larry is survived by his wife of 44 years, Cathy McDaniel of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Susan and James Brittingham; grandchildren, Jenna, Jake and Nate Brittingham, all of Paragould; niece, Stacy Dudley of Nashville, TN; and many extended family and friends. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6-8 at Heath Funeral Home in Paragould. Funeral service will be Saturday at 1pm in Heath Colonial Chapel with Michael Meredith officiating. Pallbearers are James Brittingham, Jake Brittingham, Nate Brittingham, Charles Long, Donis Simpson, Rondal Parten, Alan Carter, and Coleman Rothe. Honorary pallbearers are Dick Pickens, John Pickens, Paul Pickens, Mike Pickens, Mark Jones, and Keith Noble. Burial will follow in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to the Children's Home of Paragould.
