Kenneth "Kenny" Rex Cline, 79, of Paragould, passed from this life on Friday, August 18, 2023, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center. He was born in Paragould on June 14, 1944, to the late Luther and Faye Kennemore Cline. Kenny, or "Poppy" as his grandchildren affectionately called him, graduated from Greene County Tech in 1962. He attended Arkansas State University and served in the Unites States Army National Guard. Kenny became manager of Belk Simpson in Paragould before co-owning Clyde Mack Clothing Company with his brother. He married the love of his life, Lynn Higgins, on August 15, 1983. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Paragould where he faithfully served on various committees and as the head usher for many years. Kenny enjoyed playing golf in his early years. He was a sports fanatic, particularly St. Louis Cardinals and Arkansas Razorbacks. It was known that Kenny could recite almost any starting line-up for the Cardinals from almost any season. Kenny was happy as long as he could find a sport for entertainment. He spent many summers at Lake Norfork near Mountain Home boating and skiing with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lynn Higgins Cline; and God-parents, Roy and Anna "Tex" Findley.
Kenny is survived by his children, Jeffrey (Jennifer) Wood of Rogers and Julie (Sam) McHaney of Paragould; grandchildren, Kelsey Wood of Johnson; Kasey Wood of Fayetteville, Maddie Booher of Rogers, Clancey Wood of Rogers, Kathelyn McHaney of Fayetteville, Evelyn McHaney of Little Rock, and Nelson McHaney of Fayetteville; brother, Billy Cline of Fayetteville; seven nephews and nieces; and fifteen great nephews and nieces.
