Kenneth Harvey Cooper, 77, of Jonesboro, passed away Thursday at St. Elizabeth's Nursing Home. He was a retired Police Chief for ASU after 33 years and a member of Trinity Baptist Church and the Jonesboro Civitan Club. Kenneth was the son of the late Harvey "Red" and Myrene Cooper. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Flossie Higgins Cooper; his parents; two brothers, Larry Don Cooper, Tommy Vernon Cooper.
Survivors include his son, Kyle Cooper of Jonesboro; daughter, Penny (Jim) McDaniel of Jonesboro; five Grandchildren, Jacelyn McDaniel, Kayla Cooper, Katie Cooper, two brothers, Wayne Cooper and David Cooper; eight sisters, Bruxie Myshka, Imogene Curtis, Emma Dell Danley, Loretta Allen, Diane Allen, Sharon Hollis, Charlotte King, and Debra Cooper; brother-in-law Walter (Mary Jane) Higgins and special friend Alta Burns. Ken was also a veteran of the U. S. Army.
Visitation will be Sunday from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Heath Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Monday at 10:00 A.M. in the chapel with Joel McMasters officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Log Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Brad Caldwell, Mike Archer, Kelly Baggett, Ike Daughtery, Randy Martin, Tim McCall. Honorary pallbearers are Members of Trinity Baptist Church and past and present officers of A.S.U. Police Department.
