Kenneth Edmond Fletcher, 77, of Paragould, passed away Wednesday at St. Bernard's Medical Center in Jonesboro. Ken was the son of the late Kenneth Edmond Fletcher and Mary Shewmaker Sweet. He was a retired industrial maintenance manager and was a member of First United Methodist Church. Ken was a master gardener and enjoyed metal work and welding in his free time. His favorite hobby was raising and showing quarter horses with Pete, a King Ranch registered quarter horse, as his most prized horse for twenty years. Ken was a Navy veteran with three years of service. He spent part of his time serving during the Cuban Missile Crisis on an LST ship transporting Marines back and forth from Guantanamo Bay to Miami. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Theresa Hertel; and brother, Donald Fletcher.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Holly Fletcher, of Paragould; son, Kenneth "Skip" Fletcher, of Chandler, Indiana; daughter, Gayle Andrews (Mike) Heath, of Pflugerville, Texas; son, Wayne Andrews, of Paragould; eight grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
The Family will celebrate Ken’s Life on September 5, 2020 starting at 1:00 pm at Fletcher Farms locate at 656 Greene 513 Road, Paragould, Arkansas. Rev. Dane Wommack, Senior Pastor at the First United Methodist Church of Paragould will be officiating. Family and Friends are invited. We will respect social distancing and masks will be available if needed. The family requests that gifts, in lieu of Flowers, be sent in Ken’s Honor made out to the Craighead County Master Gardeners, C/O Brannon Theisse, Staff Chair, Craighead County Extension Service, 611 East Washington Ave, Jonesboro, Arkansas 72401.
