Kathy Sue Vowell

Kathy Sue Vowell, 69, of Paragould, passed from this life on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center. She was born in Paragould on October 15, 1954, to the late Rev. Hanley Wasson "Dub" Clements, Jr. and Janet Clements. Kathy graduated from Paragould High School in 1972. She married Dennis Ray Vowell, Sr. on December 6, 1974. Kathy retired as an Agent with the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration after 28 years of service. She loved to shop and spoil her grandchildren. After retirement, she enjoyed watching General Hospital and caring for others. Kathy also enjoyed reading novels, especially the Love Inspired series. She was a faithful member of Bethel Station Baptist Church where her husband has served as pastor for 17 years. Kathy was preceded in death by her father, Dub Clements, and sister, Karen Barrow.

Kathy is survived by her husband of 48 years, Rev. Dennis Ray Vowell, Sr.; son, Dr. Denny (Debi) Vowell of Paragould; grandchildren, Hannah Elizabeth Vowell and Theodore Hanley Wasson Vowell; mother, Janet Clements; and aunts, Carolyn Archer, Estel Spain, and Clara Cone.

The family will receive friends Thursday, November 2, 2023, from 6-8 PM at Heath Funeral Home. The funeral is Friday, November 3, 2023, at 10 AM at Heath Funeral Home with Rowdy Fortson officiating. Burial will follow in Greene County Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Pallbearers are Aaron Vowell, Tim Carroll, Les Baker, Nathan Sanders, Byron Vowell, and Randy Vowell.
