Junior Jones

Junior Jones, Jr. 83, of Cardwell, passed away Saturday in Jonesboro. He was the son of the late Lorene and Saul Jones, Sr. Junior was a veteran in the U.S. Army and was of the Baptist faith. He was a carpenter and a gardener who enjoyed watching wrestling, flea marketing, and fishing. Also preceding him in death are sisters, Lola May and Rosa May; brothers, Walter Jones and Charles Jones; and nephews, Gene Jones and Ray Jones.

Survivors include his wife, Cookie Jones, of the home; son, Jimmy Dale (Kimberly) Jones, of Cardwell; daughter, Theresa Marie Jones (Terry) Shands, of Cardwell; grandchildren, Shyann Jones, Jessica (Kevin) Talley, Sierra Jones, Dallas (Jessica) Shands, all of Cardwell, Summer (Daniel) Foster, of Paragould, and Zachary Stevenson, of Cardwell; great grandkids, Fisher Shands, Aria Talley, Cypress Shands, Karson Talley, all of Cardwell, and Charles, Alexis, Zoey, and Neveah all of Paragould; brothers, Howard (Barbara) Jones, of Harviell, Missouri and Johnny (Carol) Jones, of Granite City, Illinois; sister, Fredia Baker, of Cardwell; sister-in-law, Janetta Jones; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 11:00-1:00 at Heath Funeral Home in Paragould. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 pm in the chapel with Rev. Danny Hall officiating. Burial will follow at Cardwell Cemetery. Pallbearers are Dallas Shands, Kevin Talley, Charles Wood, Wesley Ward, Garrett Shaver, and Michael Jameson. Honorary pallbearers are Jimmy Jones, Terry Shands, Johnny Jones, Howard Jones, Alan Jones, Jamie Jones, and Tom McCracken
