Juanita W. Smith, 89 of Memphis, formerly of Paragould, went home to be with her Lord on June 13, 2009, in Memphis. Juanita was born on June 24, 1919, lived her entire life in the Paragould area until an illness in 2007 required her to move closer to her only daughter in Memphis. Juanita was an LPN at Arkansas Methodist Hospital for over 38 years. After her retirement she became active with the Senior Bees and enjoyed having lunch at the Senior Center everyday with many of her longtime friends. Later she became active with the Widows Support Group until her health required her to move into assisted living in 2007. Up until the last hour of her life Juanita continued to live a very active and full life. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert B. Smith; parents John Oscar and Lilly Mae Jennings Farmer; 6 brothers and sisters. Survivors include her daughter, Gwen Smith of Cordova, TN; one sister, Edwina Risinger of Flint, MI; two sisters-in-law, Ova Farmer of Monette, AR and Shirley Farmer of Paragould, many nieces and nephews and their children. Juanita's strength, vitality and determination was an inspiration to everyone around her. She has left such a positive impact on so many lives and will truly be missed by many. Visitation will be Wednesday from 11:00AM - 1:00 P.M. at Heath Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 1:00 P.M. at Heath Colonial chapel with Rev. Dan Siminon officiating. Burial will follow in Linwood Cemetery.
