Joy Sheppard, 76, of Paragould, passed away Friday at her residence. She was retired from Monroe, a housewife, and a member of Gainesville Church of Christ . Joy was the daughter to the late H. W. "Pete" and Hilda Clyde Lawson Cooper. She was also preceded in death by her in-laws, Charlie and Nellie Sheppard; brother, Toy E. Cooper; brothers-in-law, Wayne Wilder and Charles Sheppard.
Survivors include her husband of 58 1/2 years, Ernest Sheppard of the home; son, David A. Sheppard of Paragould; daughter, Cheryl K. (Terry) Bishop of Chicago, Il; brothers, James Cooper of Knob and Dale Cooper of Ozark, Il; sister, Shirley Wilder of Chicago; sisters-in-law, Marcella Cooper of Paragould and Sibbie Sheppard of Beebe; and chosen family, Brad, Trina, and Chase Brewer.
Visitation is Tuesday from 12-1 pm at Heath Funeral Home. The funeral starts at 1:00 pm with Sam Becerra and Tyler Killough officiating. Burial will follow in Greene County Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Phil Davis, Randal Brittingham, Mike Cross, Manuel Johnson, Roger Knight, and Jerry Pillow, Sr. Honorary pallbearers will be Lovoy Sanders, Terry Sanders and Topper Killough.
