John L. Coleman

John L. Coleman, Jr., 84, of Paragould, died on Monday in Jonesboro. He was a retired Claims Adjuster for GM and a member of East Side Baptist Church. John served as a volunteer firefighter with Center Hill Fire Department and served as an Alderman for the city of Paragould for nine years. He was the son of the late John L. Coleman, Sr. and Gracie Turnage Coleman. John loved to water ski and spend time at the lake with his family. He was a man of many talents and would help anyone in need of repairs. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Dorothy McElravey and Irene Prince; and brothers, Ernest Coleman and Loyal Coleman. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Patricia Coleman; children, Lynn Treece (Cecil) of Paragould, John L. Coleman, III (Penny) of Springfield, MO, and Michael L. Coleman (Maria) of Haltom City, TX; grandchildren, Dr. Brannon Treece (Missy) of Jonesboro, Dr. Laura Shotts (Dr. Zeke Shotts) of Jonesboro; Stephanie Treece of Paragould, Dr. Jonathan Treece of New Smyrna Beach, FL, Shelby Little (Clint) of Springfield, Andrea Bernskoetter (Alex) of Springfield, Michael L. Coleman, Jr. of Haltom City, and Matthew Coleman of Haltom City; great grandchildren, Morgan and Bella Grace Treece of Jonesboro, Evie Lynn, Ezra, and Elijah Shotts of Jonesboro, Ethan Wells of Paragould, and Isaac Little of Springfield; and sisters, Pauline Lincoln of Bartlett, TN, and Shelby Thornton of Cordova, TN. The family will receive friends Thursday from 12-2 pm at Heath Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 2. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Michael and Matthew Coleman, Joe Reeves, Dr. Brannon Treece, Dr. Zeke Shotts, and Dr. Jonathan Treece. Honorary pallbearers are Don Fleeman and Charlie Partlow.
