John Dewayne Allen, Jr.

December 12, 2001 — January 9, 2024

John Dewayne Allen Jr., a beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend, left this world on January 9, 2024, at the age of 22. Born on December 12, 2001, in Jonesboro, John, or J.J. as we was known to some, brought light and joy to the lives of those around him.

Described as friendly, polite, and charming, John touched the hearts of everyone he met. His talkative nature illuminated any room he entered and his contagious laughter could brighten even the darkest days. Known for his charismatic personality, John found his calling in the world of sales, where he thrived and delighted in connecting with others.

John's adventurous spirit led him to embrace the thrill of wake boarding and boating, earning him the reputation of a true lake fanatic. No challenge was too great, and he fearlessly carved through the water, leaving behind memories of laughter and exhilaration. John also had a passion for tinkering with audio systems, his fingertips expertly maneuvering the intricacies of wiring.

Although his time on earth was cut short, John's impact and presence will forever be treasured by his surviving relatives. He leaves behind his devoted father, John D. Allen Sr.; his caring mother, Brandi (Dwaine Tarlton) Holt; his loving paternal grandmother and grandfather, Mary Ann and the late J. Dewayne Allen; his loving maternal grandparents, Terry, Sr. and Karen Rollins; his maternal great grandparents, Howard and Joyce Morgan; his doting brother, Jaxon Allen; his caring sisters, Madi (Isaiah Grant) Holt and Alyssa Holt; his adoring fiance, Maddie Snyder and her son, Oliver Alan; uncles, Jay (Lesle) Allen and Terry (Courtney) Rollins, Jr.; his cherished cousins, Jessica Allert, Daniel Allen, Grace Petty, Anna Joy Allen, Mary Leigh Allen, Kayli (Blake) Stone, and Gauge Rollins; second cousins, Haven and Barrett Stone; and a host of extended family members and friends. John is also preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Carolyn Holt; paternal great grandmother, Anna B. Brass; and great aunt, Jane Cochran.

Together, we will celebrate the life of John Dwayne Allen Jr. A memorial service will be held at Heath Funeral Home on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at 3 PM with Pastor Jared Pickney officiating. A visitation will precede the service from 1-3 PM.

Today, we remember John for his infectious personality, his zest for life, and the joy he brought to everyone around him. May his spirit forever live on in our hearts as we cherish his memory and the indelible mark he left on this world.
