Joann Starnes-Allen

Joann (Starnes) Allen, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend passed away on November 16, 2024, at the age of 85. Born in Marmaduke, AR, on June 2, 1939 to the late Leo and Zipporah Layman, Joann led a fulfilling life surrounded by her family and friends. In her free time, Joann found joy in playing cards, dancing, and cherishing those special moments spent with her family. Her ever-present smile and laughter endeared her to those around her and created lasting memories shared with all those lucky enough to be a part of her life.

Joann will be deeply missed by her loving husband, Steve Allen, of Frisco, Texas; her sons, Craig Starnes of Piedmont, Oklahoma, and Brent (Katherine) Starnes of Frisco,Texas; her brother, Bill (Phyllis) Layman of Paragould, Arkansas; her grandchildren, Justin Starnes, Addison Starnes, and Zane Starnes, and a host of other family and friends whose lives she touched. Funeral services and ceremonies to honor Joann's memory will be held on Saturday, November 23, at Heath Funeral Home Chapel beginning at 3:00 PM with Jerry Pentecost officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until the time of the service. Burial will be private. May she rest in peace, knowing she was loved and respected by many.
