Mamie Jewel Cooper, 92, of Brookland, died Sunday, November 11, 2012, at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jonesboro. She was born August 14, 1920 in Paragould the daughter of the late Walter Scott and Ethel Matilda Kelly Horton. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Harold Dennis Cooper, Sr., an infant son, a grandson, a great great grandchild, 4 brothers and 3 sisters. She was a homemaker, a member of West View Baptist Church and enjoyed caring for her grandchildren, cooking and flowers. She is survived by her children: Harold Dennis Cooper, Jr., of Paragould; Geraldine Dowden of Brookland, Carolyn Phillips and Bob of Highland, Merrollee Atwood and Bill of Joelton, TN, Judy Johnston and Jim of Paragould, Brenda Kelley and Bill of Jonesboro, and Lance Cooper and Nylea of Skaneateles, NY; sisters: Nita Bowden of Farmington, MO and Catherine Whitlock of Kennett, MO; 15 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, at Heath Funeral Home. Her life will be celebrated at Heath Colonial Chapel, 2:00 PM, Wednesday, with Reverend Marc Reeves and Reverend Joel McMasters officiating. Interment will follow at New Friendship Cemetery.
