Jessie Mae Diggs

October 13, 1921 — November 2, 2018

Jessie Mae Diggs, 97, passed on November 2, 2018. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, and devoted wife for 69 years. She graduated from Hickory Ridge High School in 1939 as Valedictorian and went on to serve as a substitute teacher. In 1996 she held the position of Worthy Matron of the Olive Chapter No. 147 of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was organist and pianist for several Methodist churches when she lived in both Arkansas and Florida. She was extremely knowledgeable with regard to birds and flowers and was a member of various garden clubs. Her love of the Florida beaches, Florida Keys, and the ocean led her to great enjoyment of shelling. Jessie is preceded in death by her husband, William Ralph Diggs, daughter, Jean Ann Farrior, and parents Gordon and Anna Sullins.
She is survived by her son, William (Betty) Diggs of Hickory Ridge, Arkansas, daughter, Barbara (Steve) Cronan of Columbia, Mississippi, daughter, Carol (Byron) Cato of Fayetteville, Georgia; grandchildren, Paul Diggs, Frank Diggs, Penny Johnston, Janet (Jerry) Stuckey, Suzanne (Daniel) Martin; great grandchildren, Zach Johnston, Chelsea Johnston, Jaxon Stuckey, Jared Stuckey, Cody Roh, Brandon Roh, and Sarah Martin; great-great grandchildren, Huntley Johnston and Colee Elrod; and son-in-law, Robert Farrior.
A Life Celebration Memorial Service will be held Saturday, November 10 at 2:00pm at Shiloh United Methodist Church, 5811 W. Kings Highway, Paragould, Arkansas.
Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home, Peachtree City, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
