Jerry Tripod

Jerry Edward Tripod, 82, of Paragould, died Friday, August 17, 2012, at his home. He was born December 25, 1929 in Paragould, Arkansas the son of the late Clifford and Verla Underwood Tripod. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Bill Tripod, and granddaughter, Kelly Ann Tyler. Survivors include his children and their spouses: Terry and Tom Floria of Paragould, Larry and Valerie Tripod of Woodland Park, Colorado, Sherry and Duane Fritz of Brenham, TX, Barry and Karen Tripod of Paragould; brothers: Forrest Ray Tripod of Paragould, Jim Tripod of Harrisonville, Missouri; 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Jerry was a 1948 graduate of Paragould High School. As a member of the Bulldogs football team, they won the district title. He spent a few years playing baseball and signed a contract in 1949 to play with the New York Giants. Jerry retired from Commonwealth Theaters in Kansas City, MO as the director of concessions and also worked at Dr. Pepper Bottling Company. There will be no public services.
