Jerry Dale Phipps

Jerry Dale Phipps passed away July 18, 2016. He was born October 3, 1944 in Paragould. He graduated from Greene County Tech in 1963. He went to work at Emerson Electric and retired after 38 years. He married the love of his life, Sandra (Sandy) Jean Blan of Rector in 1964. They were married 51 years. He surrendered his life to the Lord Jesus Christ at Tenth Street Missionary Baptist Church many years ago where he faithfully served as a deacon. He loved the lord with all of his heart and always enjoyed going out on visitation witnessing for his Savior. He was a member of Brown's Chapel Baptist Church at the time of his death.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Argene and Dorothy Phipps, and one brother, Michael Joe Phipps.

Survivors include his loving wife, Sandy; three children, Timothy (Christine) Phipps of Las Vegas, Nevada, Terry (Daphne) Phipps of Paragould, and Lorie (Tony) Boyd of Paragould; one brother, Ronnie (Margaret) Phipps of Paragould; five sisters, Donna Carter of Paragould, Paula (Keith) Kirby of Kennett, Betty Rodgers of Jonesboro, Brenda (Frank) Edmiston of Memphis, and Kathy Phipps of Paragould; eight grandchildren, Pauline, John, Ryan, Caleb, Colby, Skylar, Emma, and Clay; and several nieces, nephews, and countless friends.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6-8 at Heath Funeral Home. The funeral begins at 10 am Thursday in Heath Colonial Chapel with Rev. Jerry Jolly officiating. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
