Jerry Clark

August 12, 1941 — February 28, 2025

Jerry Michael Clark, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, left this world on February 28, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on August 12, 1941, in Evening Shade, Arkansas, Jerry devoted his life to his family, community, and the passions that brought him joy.

Jerry served as a supervisor for the City of Paragould for 35 years, overseeing the Street Department with dedication and care. He was known not only for his work ethic but also for his warmth and kindness, always willing to lend a helping hand to neighbors and friends. Above all, Jerry was a servant for the Lord, faithfully attending Fairview Baptist Church for many years.

A man of many interests, Jerry cherished the great outdoors, where he found happiness in hunting, fishing, and tending to his garden. He had a particular affinity for rescuing animals, opening his heart and home to those in need. Alongside his beloved wife, Evelyn, Jerry enjoyed visiting music festivals in Hardy, where they created countless cherished memories together. He also loved to spend time on his family land in Poughkeepsie, Arkansas, where he would happily "piddle" with various projects.

Jerry was an avid collector of antiques and old coins, taking pride in the stories each piece held. He leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and commitment to family and community. He is survived by his devoted wife, Evelyn Clark; his daughters, Suveda Sterns, Julia (Donald) Gray, Marie (Marty) Roberts, and Angie Goldsmith; his sons, Michael (Julie) Clark, Sam (Ashley) Mangrum, Jr., and DJ (Miranda) Ricker; his brother, Douglas (Donna) Clark; his sister, Caroline Grigsby; 17 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends; and his beloved dogs, Buddy and Abby, and his cat, Precious.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Earnest Clark and Edith Clark; his brothers, Charles Edward Clark, Johnny Wayne Clark, and Paul Clark; and his sisters, Gladys Shirley, Rose Campbell, and Betty Branch.
