Jeptha F. Futrell III (Danny), a beloved member of the Paragould, Arkansas community, passed
away on September 29, 2023, at the age of 73. Born on January 20, 1950, to proud parents Earlene and Jeptha F. Futrell Jr., Danny spent most of his life in Paragould, leaving an indelible mark on his community and in the hearts of all who
knew him.
Danny's unwavering love and devotion were most apparent in his marriage to his wife, Linda
Futrell. Together, they laughed, weathered life's joys and challenges, and created countless
memories with friends and family for 23 years.
Danny had a passion for golf that was unparalleled. He cherished golf trips with his friends and
their competitive matches at the Paragould Country Club. Danny once hit 2 hole-in-ones in the
same round, a feat he humbly shied away from when others told it by saying “The only two I
ever hit.”
A die-hard fan of the Arkansas Razorbacks, Danny's loyalty to his team was unwavering. He
cheered for the Razorbacks through thick and thin and loved any conversation that involved the
Hogs.
In the business community, Danny was a respected entrepreneur and businessman who owned
and operated the Party Store and Danny's Car Wash. He loved being around people, serving his
community, and proudly representing his family’s legacy.
Danny is survived by his loving wife, Linda; his 4 children, Jill Sloas (Michael), Farrah Futrell (Kelly
Jones), Lindsey Way (Philip) and Frank Hurst (Laurie); and 8 grandchildren, Zoe Sloas, Ben Sloas,
Abby Ollis, Andrew Ollis, Bailey Way, Weslea Way, Hayden Hurst and Connor Hurst. He is also
survived by his brothers, Dr. Mike Futrell (Josie) and Bill Futrell (Lee Anne), and his nieces, Dawn
Cassidy (Brian), Misty Alexander (Bart), Allie Leon (Zach), MaryBeth Eastlick, and Heather
Henderson (Steve).
Danny’s legacy is one of love, family, and a deep connection to his community. He will be
remembered for his kindness, funny stories, his passion for golf and the Razorbacks, and the
enduring love he shared with his family and friends.
Under the direction of Heath Funeral Home, a memorial service will be held in honor of Danny on Thursday, October 19th at 2:00pm at the First United Methodist Church in Paragould. Rev. Dane Womack and Rev. Sarah Ellzey will be officiating. In lieu of
flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the First United Methodist Church Building Fund.
The family would like to thank the Paragould Fire Department, along with the staff of NEA
