James Trent Snipes, 75, of Jonesboro, passed away Monday, October 10, 2022. He was born July 23, 1947, to the late William and Kathryn Snipes of Memphis. James spent most of his life as a teacher and being a truck driver; however, he enjoyed hunting, yard work, watching Nascar, his '72 Chevy pickup truck and Chris-craft boat, both family heirlooms. He was a man of faith and liked being a Sunday School teacher. He was preceded in death by his father, William A. Snipes, and mother, Kathryn Snipes.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Hunter Snipes; daughter, Susanne (Todd) Bankhead of San Diego, California; sons, Dr. Samuel (Dr. Melina Chan) Snipes of Bedford, New Hampshire, and Scott Snipes of Miami, Florida; and grandkids, Jackson Bankhead, Mason Bankhead, Olivia Snipes, and Evan Snipes.
The family will receive friends from 9-10 a.m. Friday, October 14, 2022, at Heath Funeral Home. The funeral begins at 10a.m. with Pastor Keith Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Hartsoe Cemetery in Marmaduke. Honorary pallbearers are the Walnut Street Baptist Church's Men's Sunday School Class, Mervin Hunter, Greg Meeks, and Butch Oren Crowson.
