James Morgan, 61, of Jonesboro passed away Thursday at St Bernard's. He was born in Williamsport, Indiana, retired from the AHTD after 36 years of service. He was a graduate of Bay High School and of the Baptist faith and loved working on anything mechanical and was also a former Boy Scout Leader and loved to travel. He was preceded in death by his sister, Brenda Gray, brother, Joe "Bubby" Roberson and his grandfather, Tom Douglas.
Survivors include his wife of over 41 years, Teresa Morgan of the home; two sons, Jeremy D. (Karri) Morgan of Brookland and James T. (Amanda) Morgan of Jonesboro; mother, Doris Roberson of Jonesboro; grandmother, Florence Douglas of Jonesboro; brother, David Roberson of Clinton, Missouri; sisters, Trella Storey of Clinton, Missouri, and Pam Manz of Reading, Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Casey Burns, Cassandra Burns, Cameron Burns, Craig Burns and Conway Morgan; great grandchildren, Jayda and Connor Durbin and a very special girl, Kyleigh Chesser.
Visitation will be Sunday from 5-7:00 pm at Heath Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Monday at 1 pm in the Chapel of Heath Funeral Home with Revs. Danny Russell and Don Seat officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Log Cemetery in Brookland.
Pallbearers are Jeremy Morgan, James Morgan, Kevin Fields, Billy Bell, Eric Speakman and Hoss Thompson. Honorary pallbearers are coworkers of the AHTD.
Lasting Memorials are asked to consider the Boy Scouts of America.
