James Ernest Bryson

James "Earnie" Bryson, 96, formerly of Paragould, died Tuesday, March 29, 2011, at his home in Powhatan. He was born March 29, 1915 in Pascola, Missouri the son of the late Charles and Sadie Fry Bryson. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Opal Barber Bryson, son, Jerry Wayne Bryson, sister, Cora Mae Thompson, brothers, Clifford, Fred and Charlie Bryson. He was a member of the River Of Life Apostolic Church and was retired from the Arkansas Highway Department. Earnie loved fishing and gardening and was a World War II Army Veteran. Survivors include his daughters: Ernestine Lively, Billie Jo McPherson, both of Flint, MI; sons: Jackie Ray Bryson of Rose City, MI, James Conway Bryson of Powhatan, AR; sister: Ruby Stone of Independence, MO, twelve grandchildren, twenty three great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Thursday, at Heath Funeral Home. His life will be celebrated at Heath Colonial Chapel, 1:30 PM, Friday, with Rev. Floyd Ryles officiating.
