James Edward McDaniel, 73, of Lafe, Arkansas, died Saturday, September 12, at St. Bernard’s Medical Center. James was born September 22, 1935 in Barfield, Arkansas the son of the late E.J. and Jennie McDaniel. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Sammie and one grandson, Sydney McDaniel. James was retired from General Motors in Pontiac, Michigan. He was an auto repairman, mechanic, fisherman and a wonderful family man. Survivors include his loving and devoted wife Bea McDaniel of the home; one son and daughter-in-law , Ron and Theresa McDaniel of Jonesboro; three daughters and son-in-law: Margaret and Larry Woodruff of Paragould; Denise Sumner of Waterford, Michigan, and Sandy Hampton of Paragould; twelve grandchildren: Heather, Christina, Kristi, Susan, Ed, Adam, Josh, Michael, Alex, Casey, Philip and Cody; seven great grandchildren: Brittany, Alfonzo, Darion, Sarah, Bladen, Jackson and Bella; five sisters and brothers-in-law: Thelma Devore of Paragould, Janette Chipman Flores of Chowchilla, California, Shirley and Joe Ramirez, Ruth and Bill Langley, Donna and Charles Allen, all of Blytheville; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Larry and Brenda McDaniel and Rick and Ilene McDaniel, all of Blytheville; many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. His life will be celebrated at 2:00 PM Tuesday, September 15, at Heath Colonial Chapel with Pastor Danny Rigney of Blytheville officiating. Burial will follow at Providence Cemetery in Lafe.
