James E. Collins, 81, of Paragould, passed away Monday at Green House Cottages of Belle Meade. He was the son of the late Earnest and Mary Moore Collins. James was a retired supervisor at Monroe and was of the Assembly of God faith. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, coaching girls softball, and spending time with his grandchildren. He is also preceded in death by three sisters, Fay Meredith, Clora Ruth Russom, and Glenna Swink; and step grandson, Hogan Weaver.
Survivors include his loving wife of sixty years, Peggy Collins, of the Home; daughters, Sandra Weaver (Rick) and Sherrie Greene (Jeff), both of Paragould; grandchildren, Kendra Gramling (Brandon), Jessica Greene, and Josh Greene (Peggy); great grandchildren, Harper Gramling, Swayze Gramling, and Zula Greene; siblings, Dorthy Burgess, Elwanda Clayton, Larry Collins, Louise DeVore (Gary), and Charles Collins; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be Thursday from 1:00-2:00 pm at Heath Funeral Home. Funeral service will begin at 2:00 pm in the chapel. Burial will follow at Greene County Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Face masks are required inside the building and friends and family are asked to practice social distancing as recommended by the CDC.
