James "Cotton" Harlan Cooper

James Harlan "Cotton" Cooper, 94, Paragould, died Sunday, September 18, 2011, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center. He was born July 19, 1917 in Greene County the son of the late James Monroe and Iona Jenkins Cooper. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Jaunita Cooper, son, William Jerry Cooper, brothers, Harold, Hubert, Louis and Lucian Cooper, T.I. Brightwell and sister, Lucille Baker. Cotton was retired from the Arkansas Highway & Transportation Department, farmed and was a Baptist. Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law: Paul W. and Carolyn Cooper of Paragould; daughter-in-law: Earline Cooper; granddaughter: Paula and Kevin Pugh; step granddaughters: Lana Faulkner and Tina Sneed; great granddaughters: Emily Williams and Holly Pugh and six step grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, at Heath Funeral Home. His life will be celebrated at Heath Colonial Chapel, 1:00 PM, Wednesday, with Rev. Kim Bridges officiating.
